Episode 6 sees Mando hook up with an old acquaintance, Ranzar Malk (Mark Boone Jr) to pull a job off the books to make some money. It's not easy being a single parent out there in this harsh galaxy.
The team is made up of four plus Mando. There is team leader Mayfeld (Bill Burr), an old love interest of Mando's Xi'an (Natalia Tena), Burg (Clancy Brown), and a droid named Zero (Richard Ayoade). Mando finds out the heist is to get one of their colleagues off a Republic prison ship. They really only need him for his ship.
The team turns on Mando and toss him into a holding cell while they try to make their escape. See, there wasn't supposed to be any Republic humans on board. There was one guard in the control room and he activated the distress call. Now they are in a time constraint to exit before the Republic sends reinforcements.
He's a Mandalorian, so of course he finds a way to escape the prison. He makes short work of the team that turned on him just in time to take out Zero. Now, Zero stayed on the ship to help coordinate the heist. He got nosy and went through the ship's logs and figured out that Little Yodes was worth some scratch. He was too slow though, as Mando shoots Zero before he can take out Yodes.
Mando takes the guy they broke out of prison back to Ranzar and gets paid. Ranzar had plans to doublecross Mando and shoot his ship down. Just about the time he calls the gunship up to do that they discover Mando planted the distress beacon on them. Right on cue Rebel X-wings drop out of hyperspace in front of the base and destroy it while Mando cruises off into the sunset.
A little more action in this episode. Some really cool firefights happen in the Rebel prison ship. There are only 2 more episodes this season so it will be interesting to see how they tie it all up and get us ready for season 2.
