In the second episode of Season 8 of The Mother Honestly Podcast, Take The Day Off, Powered by Splendid Spoon, Host Blessing Adesiyan is joined by Adonica Shaw who is an Integrative health coach, doula, midwife’s apprentice, and patient advocate. As the founder and CEO of Wingwomen, she's a powerful voice for women who are navigating their reproductive health. She built the international peer support platform after experiencing a catastrophic health event. The experience was the catalyst to creating the network which also provides access to health coaching to women with Endometriosis and PCOS. Named as one of the top 136 Black Innovators in STEM + Arts by Wonder Women Tech, Adonica believes women, in particular, need a unique support system to break through the glass ceilings in their lives. She’s committed to providing access to valuable health and wellness information to women and empowering them to be active agents in their wellness.
In this very inspiring episode, Blessing and Adonica discuss in interesting details the powerful work she is doing at Wingwomen; helping women who battle with reproductive health issues like PCOS and endometriosis to find the help they need and most importantly find a community where they are believed, feel seen and are heard. They also discuss how Adonica navigates co parenting and re introducing herself to her children after a divorce. They also talk about the steps Adonica takes in her personal life to take the day off from the many roles she takes on as mother, coparent, founder and CEO.
