This is Us! Genesis (part 5) “Passing the Test” Genesis 22 

 

Much of the book of Genesis is focused on a family, and families can be messy. To its credit, the Bible does not sanitize the characters we will encounter into role models of perfection; rather there is an authentic ring to them because they were imperfect as we are. This week Abraham is confronted by an impossible choice. Sometimes we too are forced to confront “impossible” challenges and when we do, the outcome may be determined by who we believe God to be. With his Isaac on the altar, Abrahams God comes through.
