A Cup of Cold Water

Read Genesis 22:1-19; Matthew 10:40-42 Pentecost +4 One phrase that jumps out when reading Jesus' words in our Gospel text, is the last line: “...and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple - truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward." It's such a little thing to give a cup of cold water, and Jesus even emphasizes the modesty of the act by his use of the word “even.” Join me, as we discover that there are no small gestures is service to the Lord.
