The first is the second pilot TV movie for the David Janssen series Harry-O, Smile, Jenny You're Dead also starring Jodie Foster and Clu Gulager. Then a movie where the screenwriter copied his previous movie's beats and tropes, 1963's The Prize starring Paul Newman and Elke Sommer.
