There was no "occasion" for Lady Catharsis's appearance on this Saturday night fill-in occurrence of the Bombast thing. Much to my relief, there wasn't much "happening" in the world to serve as background noise or motivation. There were just (strangely) a hundred minutes for us to reiterate our musical (non) vision to the world. Short though it was--and made to seem shorter by the inclusion of a very long Stereolab opener that I probably mispronounced--it was an eventful evening. We put the "crack research team" on the case of Sandie Shaw's early records. We discussed the place of Colourbox in the 4AD universe (and I feel like decreeing that we are finished with that--the time for discussion is past). We learned a lot about Lady C's wild early college years ("I got my ear pierced and everything"). And we played a number that we also played at our wedding, all those years ago! You'll have to guess, but it's not difficult.
