Market Close 9 Oct. 2019: Aussie shares fall as trade hopes fade

Local shares have snapped a three day winning streak with the ASX 200 closing 46 points or 0.7 per cent lower at 6546.7. The benchmark index did manage to lift off the lows near the open but losses were still rather broad based. Heavyweight miners and banks contributed most to losses but telcos managed to rise.
