Journal Club: Primary Health Care Intervention Reduces Added Sugars Consumption During Childhood

Our manuscript presents the effectiveness of a training program for health workers regarding infant feeding practices to reduce sugar consumption in children in south Brazil. A training session based on the Brazilian National Guidelines for Children was provided for the primary care workers. The results indicated that children attending intervention health centers had a 27% reduced risk of sugar introduction before 4 months of age and lower added sugars consumption at 3 years of age.
