Sober for 18 years, Joe Schrank is an interventionist and community advocate. After a tenure as a residential therapist at Promises in Malibu, California, Joe returned to NYC to discover a recovery culture in great need of growth and development.
In 2008 Joe founded the Core Company a full service consultation firm dealing with all issues regarding substance abuse including assessments, treatment consultations and placements, interventions, crisis management, and transitional living at loft 107. Determined to give the 23 million Americans a voice in the media, Joe produced a show for A and E called "one man rehab". After a short but glorious TV career, Joe decided to stick to watching TV and turned his attention to journalism, founding the nations leading journalistic enterprise dedicated to addiction and recovery, Thefix.com.
Joe has facilitated hundreds of interventions and collaborated on hundreds of cases with Dr. Scott Bienenfeld. Joe continues to be a depressive and alcoholic despite many years of sobriety. He is on the board of the Nation Youth Recovery Foundation heading the lobbying efforts in Washington for drug policy reform and support of people in recovery. His hobbies include watching baseball, over eating, and avoiding human contact.
