There is no harm even in a rat race if rats are running away from cat. Unfortunately even most educated people in ignorance of the science of self, end up, like rats jumping in mouth of cat.

These two paths in the Vedas are defined as Pravritti and Nivritti i.e. path of instincts vs intelligence.
