True peacemaking begins with having peace with God and allowing the peace of God to rule in our hearts. Only then can we effectively reconcile others to God and to one another. Practical steps include forgiving repeatedly, taking initiative in reconciliation, and refusing to carry others' offenses. When we live as peacemakers, we reflect our heavenly Father's character, and people recognize us as children of God. The goal isn't merely avoiding conflict but actively creating peace even in chaotic circumstances.
