US Close 1 Apr 19: Stocks lift on US-China trade optimism

The US sharemarket improved by as much as 0.8% on Friday thanks partly to progress made in US-China trade talks and better US data. US stocks wrapped up the best first quarter since 1998 after slumping over the December quarter.
