The Lesson I learned From My Four Year Old Son We all need help!

This weekend we went to Yellowstone National Park and had a blast! There was lots of walking and it eventually became too much for my 4 year olds little legs.

On one hike up many switch backs my son asked for help up the trail. He asked if I could be his horse! I carried him up the hill on my back. When we reached the top he yelled “we did it!” We all had a good laugh and celebrated reaching the top!

Later on I was thinking about how he didn’t say “you did it” he said “we did it!” We had, he did as much as he could and then asked for help the rest of the way. We all need help from time to time. There is nothing wrong with that. Many of us are afraid to ask for help, it’s ok! You can ask for help. It doesn’t take away from your accomplishments. In fact, the most successful people in the world have coaches, mentors, and guides.

It doesn’t take away from their success, it just means they were smart enough to ask for help.

Ask for help!

If you have a goal, there is someone out there who has done it. If you are trying your best and can’t quite make it, there is someone further along who wants to help.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We all need it!
