Mid-Session 19 June 19: Local shares hit fresh 11.5 year highs on trade optimism

Aussie shares have continued to improve on renewed trade optimism. The ASX 200 is climbing 70 points or 1.1% as US president Trump is set to meet with Chinese President Xi at the upcoming G20 summit. Today’s rally so far has broad based but mainly driven by improvements in mining and energy stocks as commodity prices surged.
