Reflect:

1. Drawing on Joel 2:28-31, Levison writes, “The auspicious circle of authorized men around Moses…explordes in Joel’s dream, in which the spirit is poured out upon all flesh, and no less richly upon female slaves than upon male elders.” Reflect on what this prophecy says and how unsettling it truly is.
2. Levison reflects how, “When Peter returned to Jerusalem, he retold the story to the Jewish followers of Jesus there: ‘The spirit told me to go with them without discriminating between them and us.’” How does acting without discrimination apply to a situation you currently face? How is this principal threatening to your situation? Liberating?
