AM Report 24 Apr 18: Treasury yields and Russian sanction in focus

US sharemarkets ended mixed after a choppy session. Higher bond yields weighed on consumer staples but provided support for financials. And worries about weaker phone demand weighed on tech stocks. Stocks in aluminium producers fell after the US opened the door to sanctions relief for Russian aluminium giant Rusal. After trading in a 208 point range, the Dow Jones ended lower by 14 points or 0.1%
