AM Report 12 Jul 18: Global markets and commodities hit by heightened trade war concerns

US sharemarkets traded lower on Wednesday on heightened trade war concerns. The Dow Jones fell by up to 250 points during the session. Shares of industrials' including Boeing (-1.8%), Caterpillar (-3.1%) and DowDuPont (-2.4%) were a drag on the Dow. The S&P 500 energy (-2.2%) and materials (-1.7%) sectors also fell on global growth concerns. And the Philadelphia semiconductor index fell by 2.6%. The Dow Jones fell by 219 points or 0.9%
