US Close 7 Nov 16: US lower again on Friday election nerves.

US sharemarkets fell again on Friday. While the job report was encouraging, sentiment was hurt by lower oil prices and uncertainty on the election result. The Dow Jones index ended lower by 42 points or 0.2% after trading in a 103 point range. The S&P 500 index fell for the ninth straight day, down 0.2%, and the longest losing streak in 35 years. The Nasdaq fell by 12 points or 0.2%. Over the week the Dow Jones fell by 1.5 per cent with the S&P 500 index down by 1.9 per cent and the Nasdaq lost 2.8 per cent.
