US Market Close 7 Aug 18: Tech heavy Nasdaq lifts on Facebook

US sharemarkets rose on Monday. Shares in Facebook rose by 4.5% on reports the social media company was planning new services. The Dow Jones index rose by 40 points. The S&P 500 index rose by 0.4% and the Nasdaq was up by almost 0.6%.
