Galway begin their Very National Camogie League campaign on Saturday (22nd February 2025) when they travel to Kilkenny in Division 1A. The game was moved from Nowlan Park on Friday after it was deemed unplayable and will now take place in Dunmore Training Centre in Kilkenny. Manager Cathal Murray has made seven changes from last year's All-Ireland Final defeat to Cork. Shauna Healy returns to the starting team, while there are also starts for Alannah Kelly, Katie Manning, Sabina Rabbitte, Niamh McInerney, Mairéad Dillon and Niamh Niland.

Clarinbridge's Carrie Dolan was named as the new captain this week, while Mullagh's Aoife Donohue and Athenry's Dervla Higgins were named as vice-captains.
