The One Thing: What If...?

Know Christ as King

1. What does Peter’s vision and the events that follow teach us about the authority of Jesus over religious traditions and boundaries?
   How does this reinforce the truth that Christ is King over all people and cultures?

2. What if Peter had said “no” to God’s command to eat and go to the Gentiles?
   How might the early church — and our own experience of the gospel — be different today?

3. Why do you think the Jewish believers initially criticized Peter for going to the Gentiles?
   What does this reveal about the challenges of assuming motives within community life today?

4. How can we practice humility and openness like Peter when others question our choices in following God?
   How can groups like ours help each other stay focused on God's direction rather than personal comfort or tradition?

5. In what ways is God calling us to “not call unclean what He has made clean” in our own community?
   Who might we be unintentionally excluding from God’s love and grace through our actions or assumptions?
