The sermon for February 26, 2017. The sermon text is based on Matthew 17:1-8. Today's Focus: Jesus appears as the Son of God in glory. We come to a "hinge" in our worship focus today. In Epiphany we have seen Jesus reveal himself as the promised Savior. In the next weeks of Lent, we will see this revealed Savior suffer for the sins of the world. But before we ponder this ultimate act of humiliation, we pause this morning to gaze upon Jesus in an ultimate act of glorification. His face is "transfigured" ...

Today's Focus: Jesus appears as the Son of God in glory. We come to a "hinge" in our worship focus today. In Epiphany we have seen Jesus reveal himself as the promised Savior. In the next weeks of Lent, we will see this revealed Savior suffer for the sins of the world. But before we ponder this ultimate act of humiliation, we pause this morning to gaze upon Jesus in an ultimate act of glorification. His face is "transfigured" before Peter, James and John as he shows some of the glory that is his as true God. Behold your Beautiful Savior!
