Market Close 23 Jun 16: Local shares edge higher as UK referendum kicks off

The Australian sharemarket recouped Wednesday's losses as investors remained hesitant at the start of the UK referendum. While the market expects the UK will remain part of the European Union, polls are suggesting a close call.
