157. Every Detail About Me (Wage, Bills, Schedule, Priorities, 3 Jobs, Religion, Etc.)

I spent a good chunk of the morning today writing this podcast out, designing the cover art, and putting it altogether. I found immense joy in doing this despite being stressed off my ass. I feel incredible now having gotten it done. Like Episode 100, I’m going to just drop the entire word doc of notes of this show in this description below.

I covered vulnerable, personal, nitty gritty details of my life in this one for the sole purpose of serving as a reference point and milestone for future listeners (10+ years). This makes me feel weird to drop it now, knowing my coworkers, friends, or whomever can listen and know ever detail about me. Let alone the millions of strangers. But anyway, here’s the show notes:

 

Re-Intro To The Show & Re Brand:

Crazy to think how far we’ve come here, but how little it is in the big picture. 

I did 100 episodes without telling a soul. I had 6 rules.

Couldn’t tell anyone.

No guests, just me.

Had to be 20 minutes long.

Had to have some sort of takeaway or value

No cuts or edits or removing anything

Had to upload 5 a week.

Started recording a podcast as part of Live Hard Phase 1. Failed phase 1 on day 25 of 30, but kept on with the podcasts.

5 months later here we are.

My ultimate goal with this podcast specifically is to document everything from ground zero to the top floor as the intro says.

Cool to see day to day of modern day leaders like Andy, Musk, Goggins, Hormozi, celebrities, authors, philosophers, etc. Really anyone you look up to and aspire to be like. Imagine being able to go back and listen to the day to day of your favorite celebrity, author, whatever, etc., years before they even had the idea to do whatever they are known for know. Imagine listening, live, to them develop their idea to pursue their thing. HOW SICK would that be.

As intro says, it goes without saying, but I believe I’ll make it there.

That’s what this podcast is about.

I want people who aren’t even born yet to be able to look back at these episodes when they are 20 years old and see where I’m starting from, where I’m at, my conditions, circumstances, and see what I did to help them either relate to me, not feel alone, and just serve as proof that anyone can do this shit. You just have to be willing to start right now and look like a dumbass for a few decades. 

I did 75 hard and it changed my entire life. I’ll always preach the benefits of that program. I’ll always be a fanboy of it. It truly changed my entire life and I will never not do it.

It proved to me very quickly that I’ve been living a mediocre life and that I am capable of living an exceptional one. It proved to me that I have the potential to do big things. It showed me that I am tough, I can develop discipline, I can escape a depressing life, I can keep my word to myself, I can remain committed, I can battle through hard days, and I can win the day, every day.

You’re listening to this episode because the program showed me that giving up is actually harder than not. 

What is BED?

Better Each Day? Bryson Every Day? Business, Excellence, & Discipline? Be Exceptional Daily?

The original idea was to go from bq.Daily to Bryson Every Day. Business Excellence, Discipline just so happened to be BED as well. Then I thought better each day. So it’s whatever the hell floats your boat. This is the bed show. Gonna put our old selves to sleep. 

The idea is to make another podcast that is refined and polished with strict focus on professionalism, organization, and quality that focuses on what it takes to actually get to where you want to go.

This podcast is the day to day behind the scenes, more personal to me, more nitty gritty details and random shit. It’s more about the thoughts and ideas that cross my mind and I share them without organization or thinking it through. It’s to show the vulnerable side and realness of a man who desires more out of life and what actually, really, literally happens behind the scenes. 

So with that being said, the rest of this podcast is going to go into personal detail of my life and where I’m at. Wages, interests, jobs, time schedule, priorities, family, etc. For no other reason than to give an insight to the hand I’m playing with. Some may have it easier, some may have it harder. But here we go.

3 Jobs:

Hill Air Force Base - I repair F35 Fighter Jet canopies so the pilot can see out.

$26.68/hr, scheduled to go to $28.52 in the Summer, $29.66 in October, and $31.14 in Winter of ’25.

FedEx Driver - I deliver boxes

$170 per day no matter what, $1 after 135 stops. I do about 165-205 daily, which is $200-240 a day. About 6 hours worth of work. Which is $33-40/hr.

Truck Washer - Clean FedEx Trucks

$200 a day for 1 hour drive, 6 hours wash, 1 hour drive. - $33 hour

Work Schedule:

M-F Hill AFB - Sat FedEx - Sun Truck Wash

M-Th Hill AFB - Fri & Sat FedEx - Sun Off

One day off per 14 days.

Pay Schedule:

Hill AFB - Biweekly.

FedEx & Wash - Weekly

Pay Amount:

With taxes, insurance, etc, net pay amounts are roughly:

Hill AFB - $1400 Bi, soon to be $1640

FedEx & Truck Wash - $540 on week, $180 the next.

Schedule:

3:45am wake

Prep for work 4:30

Drive to work and work till 2:30pm,

2:45-3:45pm-ish gym

4-7 OT hours (29 a week if rest 2 days from gym).

7-8 prep for bed.

8 to 815 fall asleep.

Sleep 815-345 - 7.5hr sleep.

FOR FEDEX IT IS THE SAME, JUST PUSHED BACK A FEW HOURS, WITH 3 ADDITIONAL HOURS TO WORK ON MY SHIT BECAUSE OF BED-TIME BEING LATER DUE TO WAKE UP TIME BEING LATER THE NEXT DAY

Sundays I am free all day.

29 hours one week, 39 the next. With an average of 34 hours per week to dedicate to anything I want. Which is just development, business, reading, podcasting, writing, etc.

For context, the average x5/wk 9-5 guy who hits the gym for an hour x4 a week, with my same schedule, would have an extra 20-30 hours than I do.

I don’t socialize outside of work. 

I don’t hang with friends unless it is something that benefits me, such as the gym.

I rarely see my family.

I should spend more time with them but I don’t. It is what it is. 

I am single. 

No kids. 

At the time of recording I am living with Uncle & Aunt, but in June I’ll be solo again.

Bills:

$2000 approx - Rent, Utilities, Internet, Water, Taxes, ETC - ALL

$400 per mo groceries / 100 weekly

$180 gas per mo / $60 for 10 days approximately 

$260 for car payment, soon to be paid off by November

$95 for car insurance 

$50 student loans

$91 phone bill

Spotify, $10

Adobe Suite $30, soon $60

PodBean $ 15

Dropbox $15

iCloud $5

Google Photos $2

Recently paid off $6k in loans and credit cards.

All the extra money I get from what I do now goes straight to bills.

Goal to be debt free by the end of the year, even after I get my own place in June.

Groceries & Gas are rounded up to er on the side of caution. Probably less.

Come Winter ’25, I’ll be able to pocket an avg of $2100/mo. Meaning I make $2100 more than I spend per month. Cool. All to business.

I don’t watch movies or TV hardly ever. For no other reason than no interest.

I mute everyone I follow on IG so I don’t see their stories or posts.

I keep the valuable pages I follow unmuted so I can learn from them. Such as frisealla, hormozi, Elliot, huberman, etc. 

Don’t know shit about mainstream anything.

I follow a bit of politics.

I really only have interest in self dev, reading, fitness, learning, basketball (lakers). Really can’t think of anything else I truly care about.

Diet:

Eating 225g+ protein per day and on a streak of 55 days.

Gallon water, streak 55 days.

Track all my food - 55 days streak.

Typically 230-250 protein, 400-500 carbs, 70-120 fats.

Not strict with the amounts, just as long as I get 225g protein.

“Bulking” at the moment.

Traditional Chest back shoulders legs split.

12-15 sets per muscle group

6-9 per smaller

Have a pass that allows me to go to any gym I want. Active & Fit now. I get nothing for sharing it.

2 herniated sis in L4-5 and L5-6 - Yes I have 6 lumbar vertebrae. Sick. Very painful sometimes. Othertimes can’t feel it. Mentally and emotionally exhausting when it does hurt. Physically it hurts but I beat myself up about it.

Always loved numbers. I love math. I love things like puzzles, Rubik’s cubes, etc. I like thinking. I like to try and figure out better ways to do shit. I like to innovate where I can, no matter how ghetto. 

Now, I like to do hard shit. Discipline is the way. I like to learn I like to get better.

Also signed with a modeling agency, then proceeded to do nothing about it because I felt insecure lol. This was while I was in my last semester of college where I dropped out in Orem UT, Utah Valley Uni.

Did my own fitness business for a while, then got rehired at grocery store.

Then moved, then got with Fedex because I wanted to be outside.

Fedex carried me through states, now in UT

When I was little I wanted to be an NBA all star, a pro skater, a BMX rider, a video game designer, an architect, an exercise equipment designer, a trainer.

Grew up LDS. Haven’t been to church in almost 11 years. Don’t necessarily know what I believe in as far as a higher being goes, and I truly never ever ever think about it. I’m agnostic by definition I guess.

Grandma had 5 kids, my mom was obviously one of them, so I grew up with a large family. Loved that aspect of family for gatherings and such.

Im the oldest sibling by 9 years, oldest grandchild by 7yrs, and oldest great grandson by idk how many.

And yeah, here I am. That’s a little summary about me.

The reason I share all of these personal ass details is to serve as a point of reference for those listening in 14 years. 

If I could go back and listen to Andy Frisella back when he was running his first every supplement store, it would be so sick to hear him talk about his past, previous job, his current financial standpoint, how he spends his time, what his parities then were, what his interests are.

For example, there might be someone out there who doesn’t watch TV or movies either and probably gets made fun of for it. Maybe hearing me talk about it can help them not feel so “weird” or “dorky” and help them feel a sense of belonging. 

Maybe if I knew that Andy and I worked the same schedule at the same age, it woukd help me feel like I’m on the right path. He did it, so am I, so I just be onto something right?
