What is your worst memory of being bullied as a kid? I’m talking about name-calling. I’ve got two that I still remember and feel embarrassed about even though they happened to me more than 50 years ago. I talk about one in this podcast episode. Our Lame-Duck excels at name-calling. Most of us outgrew this by the time we graduated grade school. But he still does it. Horrible.
Back to my memory, I have a “fat nose,” my cousin would pick on me about my nose and say, “look at the piggy-nose, oink, oink.” Then she would grab me and push my nose up. And damn it, it did look like a little piggie nose. Writing this now, I am embarrassed and feel self-conscious about my nose. That stayed with me all my life.
How long will it take us to recover from the verbal toxins this president has spewed on our country? I don’t know. But I hope it will happen soon, along with a better response to COVID and our grave economic problems.
