Pip has been informed by a lawyer named Mr Jaggers, that he has an anonymous benefactor. Leaving his old life as a blacksmith’s apprentice behind him, Pip has embarked upon a new life as a young gentleman of ‘great expectations’. On arrival at his new London lodgings, Pip has just encountered an unexpectedly familiar face.
