Rachel Notley took the Alberta NDP from four to 54 seats in the Legislature. She took an unlikely bunch from obscurity to a majority government, and put her progressive stamp on a province that had seen back-to-back conservative dynasties. Upon announcing her intent to resign as leader of the now-Official Opposition, she triggers a race of legitimate contenders vying to be Alberta's next NDP premier.
