Joe and Laura Do ASMR

Pop in your earbuds, get those tight little buns in bed, and listen to the soothing voices of Joe Barlow and Laura Lee Bishop as they ASMR you to tingly paradise. Sure, Joe and Laura don't really know what ASMR is, but does anyone? Hear them whisper naughty secrets and crunch tasty snacks. Laura's dog, Ruger Elizabeth Taylor, even makes an audio appearance. This week, Joe is mad about climate change (per usual), Laura talks in great detail about her period (again, nothing new there), but most importantly, they whisper a lot. 

What is ASMR? Autonomous sensory meridian response is a calming, pleasurable feeling often accompanied by a tingling sensation. This tingle is said to originate in a person’s head and spread to the spine (and sometimes the limbs) in response to stimulation. The stimuli that trigger ASMRvary from person to person. Some of the most common ones include whispers, white noise, lip smacking, having a person’s complete attention (as in having one’s hair cut by a hairdresser), as well as brushing, chewing, tapping, scratching, and crinkling.
