US Close 11 Dec 17: Brexit deal and strong jobs

US sharemarkets rose on Friday in response to an encouraging

job report. Telecom and health care stocks led the gains. At the

close of trade the US Dow Jones was up by almost 118 points or

0.5%. The S&P 500 index was up 0.6% to record highs. And the

Nasdaq was up by 27 points or 0.4%.
