The Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy says it’s a good thing that the official signing of a major free trade deal between the EU and Canada has been stalled. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement CETA was supposed to have been signed off today in Brussels. But those plans were postponed following the rejection of the deal by a regional parliament in Belgium. Now officials and diplomats are busy conducting talks in Belgium to try to get the Belgians to agree on the deal. However, Matt Carthy says it’s right that people air their concerns about CETA.
