Names are incredibly significant and worth noting. I’m always deliberate about the names I give things, and the names others choose are just as meaningful.
Whoever names something, whether directly or indirectly, holds a form of ownership over it.
For example, my iPhone isn’t truly “mine” in the deepest sense because I didn’t name it. The importance of naming is rooted in intention, and this is something God exemplifies throughout the Bible.
If you look closely, you’ll see how God frequently changed people’s names to signify a deeper purpose or transformation.
This brings me to something that has always sparked my curiosity: the word “Christian.” Jesus didn’t coin it, nor did the apostles, Mary, or even the angels.
Understanding the origin of the word is crucial to grasping its true meaning and implications. Listen now to learn more about where the word "Christian" came from and why it matters!
