US Mid-Session 11 Jan 17: American shares mixed in late trade

US markets are mixed in late trade Tuesday with the Dow treading water just below 20,000pts while the S&P500 and technology focused Nasdaq edging higher to near all-time highs. Stronger mining stocks overnight bodes well for local equities on Wednesday.
