Market Close 3 April 19: ASX 200 advances for a seventh consecutive session.

The ASX 200 rose 42 points or 0.68% marking the 7th consecutive improvement for the local bourse. Iron ore miners advanced after the commodity hit multi year highs driven by the prospect of shortages. This helped the Aussie dollar which was also helped higher by better than expected retail sales numbers.
