Father, Thank You for offering Your guidance to us, for not leaving us to figure it out on our own. We are so grateful that You’re always willing to instruct us, teach us, counsel us, and watch over us. We naturally want to go our own way and do our own thing. As much as we know we need it, we don’t like having to submit to someone else as our Lord and Master. We’re sinners by nature, born into the fall, and we’ve been foolish and stubborn in our response to You. Have mercy on me, a sinner. We repent of our sins and ...

Father,

Thank You for offering Your guidance to us, for not leaving us to figure it out on our own. We are so grateful that You’re always willing to instruct us, teach us, counsel us, and watch over us.

We naturally want to go our own way and do our own thing. As much as we know we need it, we don’t like having to submit to someone else as our Lord and Master. We’re sinners by nature, born into the fall, and we’ve been foolish and stubborn in our response to You. Have mercy on me, a sinner. We repent of our sins and turn to You and we ask You to make our hearts clean.

Would You steer our minds to pay attention to You? Would You loosen our grip when we’re trying to control things? Help us yield to Your leading. Help us trust that Your heart is good and that Your ideas are better than ours.

We surrender our lives to You, Lord—every plan we make, every desire we grasp for… moment of our day, each decision we make, we yield our will and way to Your perfect will and way.

We love You too. Amen.
