Morning Report 15 August 19: Wall St rebounds in choppy session

US sharemarkets remained volatile in Thursday's session. But better-than-expected earnings figures from retailer Wal-Mart and solid retail sales data soothed investor nerves. The Dow Jones traded over a 300 point range and ended trade higher by 100 points or 0.4%. The S&P500 rose by 0.3%, while the Nasdaq was lower by 7 points or 0.1%.
