-You've heard the saying, "As California goes, so does the rest of the country". Well Mexico is a similar bellwether for Latin America. Though it always lags months or years behind the USA in its social and buying habits, its always well ahead of the other 19 Latin American countries when it comes to fads, trends and fashions. That means astute Expats can observe what first-world habits are catching on in Mexico and then cash in buy exporting the same formula further southward...     

-Its been mentioned that gringo opportunities abound on the Latin business lecture circuit, and that anyone with a worn out old idea, one that's long since had its heyday up in the states, can often rework it in Spanish and give it a second life in Latin America- where the people are hungry for everything first-world. That said, its not only the stale moldy-oldie music acts like Air Supply, Kenny G and America who have found a fresh new cash cow. You won't believe some of the bloviating stateside has-beens on the Latin lecture tour right now, jumping from city to city, packing in the suckers and raking in the dough...  

-Here's yet another report that underlines the fact that Chinese take thier business and manufacturing concerns dead serious. Here's how their massive "trade" shows and product conventions are talking the 3rd-world by storm 

-Latin lawyers are perceived very much differently down here than they are up in the states. You'll find that out soon enough when you get here...
