Market Close 31 Aug 18: Aussie market higher for the week despite Friday falls

The Aussie market ended Friday in the red with the ASX 200 down 0.5% or 32pts. It was still a positive result for the week and month. Today, materials bore the brunt of the losses with telcos and financials also contributing to the overall market weakness.
