MESSAGE SUMMARY: Take a moment and reflect on all the personal relationships in your life, including family, business and social relationships – include both deep and superficial. After your reflection, how does Knowing God, the Creator of the Universe, fit within this mosaic of your personal relationships? Knowing God and having that personal relationship with Him is summarized in John 17:3: “And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.". This personal relationship with God, and knowing Him in our lives, renders everything else in our lives insignificant.
Consider what the importance of Jesus’ interchange with the Apostle Peter, in Matthew 16:13-18, exemplifies: “he {Jesus}asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the Son of Man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ And Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’”. Also consider Jesus role in Creation as the Apostille John tells us in John 1:1-3: “The beginning was the Word {Jesus}, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He {Jesus}was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.". Finally, consider for a moment that Jesus, He who wants to be your friend and have a personal relationship with you, is the Creator of the Universe!
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will seek God’s perspective on my situation. For I know that in all things God works together for good to those of us who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (From Romans 8:28).
