US Close 8 Nov 18: Stocks surge post US elections

American shares rallied last night following no surprises in the midterm elections yesterday. The Democrats took control of the House of Representatives while the Republicans retained control of the Senate. This removed concerns of sweeping policy changes over the next couple of years.
