Outside The Chute sits down and chats with former Canadian Olympian, Georgia Tech star and North Delta, BC native, Jen Yee.
Jen had an amazing career both in the NCAA and on the International stage. With the Canadian National Team she was the teams leading hitter at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and also was a member of the Gold medal winning squad in 2015.
With Georgia Tech, Jen would go on to set countless school records. In her Senior year she led the entire NCAA in batting average (.568), slugging percentage (1.270), on-base percentage (.732), runs scored (93), walks (88) and home runs (29) as well as reaching base in all 62 games and getting walked an NCAA record 31 times in one season.
We’ll talk to Jen about growing up in BC, joining the national team, that amazing senior season, as well as, playing professionally over in Japan and working with a bat company in Ottawa.
Jen was a pleasure to talk to, so we hope everyone enjoys this episode from a true student of the game.
