LUKE // 20. He Commands Power & Authority

Luke 4:31-37

Last week we found Jesus reading scripture and speaking in the synagogue. He told them who He was but they didn't get it. By the time He was finished the people were ready to throw Him over a cliff. Our Jesus found no welcome in His hometown and was forced to move on in His journey.

Our text today continues in Luke 4. Jesus has moved on to Capernaum where He was teaching the people. Luke 4:32 reads, "And they were all astonished at His teaching, for His word possessed authority…". Jesus Christ commands power and authority. They got it. One in particular got it and it might surprise you who that was. Let's continue our study together in Luke 4:31-37.
