In Lum & Abner #134, “Squire Is Upset Over Warrant,” tensions in Pine Ridge flare after Squire Skimp is served a warrant for violating an ordinance by running a theater on the second floor of a building. With Squire's Hippodrome now shuttered, Lum and Abner find themselves with a monopoly—and a big problem. As they promote David Copperfield at their own picture house, Lum remains uneasy about how things unfolded.
