Market Close 28 Dec 17: Afternoon rally lifts local shares

The Aussie market was looking at a mostly flat finish but an afternoon rally lifted the ASX 200 to near decade highs, closing 18pts or 0.3% higher at 6088pts. Most sectors were higher with energy stocks and telcos among the biggest improvers. Several companies trading ex-dividend weighed slightly on the market.
