The EU needs to do much more to tackle the energy crisis that’s leading to spiralling costs and leaving vulnerable households struggling to pay their bills.
So says Green MEP Ciaran Cuffe who this week voted against a European Parliament resolution that called for a range of measures to deal with the energy emergency. They included better protection of vulnerable consumers and an immediate and full embargo on oil, coal, nuclear fuel and gas from Russia.
But Ciaran Cuffe says the proposals aren’t strong enough.
