EU needs to better protect people from vulture funds – Carthy

EU plans for a banking reform package have been slammed by the Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy.

The EU Commission says its comprehensive banking reform package is needed to further strengthen the resilience of the EU banking sector.

However, Matt Carthy says elements of it could facilitate so-called vulture funds and put at risk vulnerable people who may have trouble repaying their loans.
