Assetou (Assi) joins us from Vancouver Island and shares her journey from working in Financial Tech to becoming Project Manager at Hotel Zed & Accent Inns. She implements systems, improves processes and launches major projects at these hotels in B.C. Her background is in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion as well as intersectional work through Non-Governmental Organizations. She changed careers in 2020 to work in tourism and has earned top accolades in the industry being awarded the Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s 30 Under 30 Achiever Award and 40 under 40 business achiever award in Kelowna, BC. 

Assi offers advice to those looking to make a move into the tourism industry as well as what it’s like to be an entrepreneur as she discusses her socially responsible brand Chiwara Co.
