Ep. 175 - Jesus Series: Jesus is greater than any high priest. Hebrews 5:1-14

Entering into Rest: Through the High Priest, the final high priest can truly offer a sacrifice and an entrance into the new temple. Jesus is greater than any high priest.

 

- The high priest was appointed by God.

- The high priest is to deal gently with those who are ignorant. - Jesus Christ is our high priest, forever.

- Rest in the fact that Jesus’ death and resurrection is more than enough. Nothing more is needed.

- Four qualifications for a high priest: High priests must:

1. Be appointed by God to represent mankind before God.

2. Offer gifts/sacrifices for sins.

3. Be able to sympathize with others.

4. Offer sacrifices for his own sins.

- It’s time for believers to grow up.

 

Gospel Response:

- Enter into rest through our High Priest, the Lord Jesus.

- Take responsibility for your own spiritual growth and maturity.
