In the latter chapters of Genesis we see Jacob's incredible pursuit of Rachel. For fourteen years he surrendered his own life in order to have her as his wife. Even after he was deceived, he remained - unmoved. In our culture today, this is absolute foolishness - working and laboring in order to attain something our heart desires.
