Lyrics:
[verse 1]
Is it all just in my head, a culmination of the things stress brings,
no sleep, black rings, eyes blood shot red.
My mind let's things coalesce, when I get no rest,
the shadows free to torment and molest, mis-lead me
with these little lies that I am fed, whispers meant to
lead me to my end, deceive me, make me think there are
secrets from which I am kept.
I went for a walk to clear my head.
[chorus]
I came to a fence stood three-feet high.
The weeds were thick, stood four, served to hide,
the etched names of the dead upon the stones
the stars and crosses.
No caregiver here nor teary eyed mourners leaving
thorny red roses for their lost loves.
[verse 3]
Corner to corner every plot filled with the dead and now forgotten.
I stood there and I stared, I felt so frivolous
and narrow minded.
I no longer cared for what others preached,
then and there I had decided.
This dismal scene a tragedy that we all
now must put behind us.
[verse 4]
I went for a walk to remind myself.
The sun was out and tamed by the thick and bright white clouds.
A soft breeze moves through the trees and makes a gentle rustling sound.
I sang a song so very sweet, it rose up from in my core.
The voice which sprung from in my being, said I needn't frown no more.
[verse 5]
I did a dance and it rained.
As I moved to the rhythm of the drops, more fell from the sky.
As I tired my groove would stop, and then it would subside.
[solo]
[chorus]
I came to a fence stood three-feet high.
The weeds were thick, stood four, served to hide,
the etched names of the dead upon the stones
the stars and crosses.
No caregiver here nor teary eyed mourners leaving
thorny red roses for their lost loves.
