General Hospital fans raise concerns about the future of the character Spencer Cassadine, played by Emmy winning actor Nicholas Chavez. Chavez had left the soap to shoot a Netflix series, creating uncertainty about his return to General Hospital. 

His last appearance on the show was on January 31, when his character, along with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), went missing and were presumed dead. Rumors suggest that Chavez might not return at all, possibly resulting in a recast of the character on the ABC soap opera. 

Other cast members, including Rena Sofer (Lois Cirullo) and Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) have been speculated to be on a heavy recurring contract. Fans have expressed a strong desire for Chavez's return, praising his portrayal of the grown-up Spencer Cassadine on GH.
